After Microsoft announced that Flight Simulator 2020 would be released on August 18th, the minimum hardware requirements were also published. They have it all. Microsoft has announced that the long-awaited Flight Simulator 2020 will be launched on August 18th. As pictures and preliminary videos show, the flight simulator has fascinating graphics - but these are not available for free. "MS poweruser" has compiled the system requirements that Flight Simulator 2020 has, namely the minimum, the recommended and the ideal specifications for AMD and Intel/Nvidia-hardware. All requirements are the same, that the simulator requires Windows 10 1909 and 150 GB hard disk space (ideally SSD).

Microsoft has announced that the long-awaited Flight Simulator 2020 will be launched on August 18th. As pictures and preliminary videos show, the flight simulator has fascinating graphics - but these are not available for free. "MS poweruser" has compiled the system requirements that Flight Simulator 2020 has, namely the minimum, the recommended and the ideal specifications for AMD and Intel/Nvidia hardware. All requirements are the same, that the simulator requires Windows 10 1909 and 150 GB hard disk space (ideally SSD).

The minimum requirements for an AMD computer are a Ryzen 2 1200 chip, 8 GB RAM and a Radeon RX graphics card with 2 GB VRAM. Or at least an Intel Core i5-4460, 8 GB RAM and an Nvidia GTX 770 with 2 GB VRAM is required. Also, the game requires a minimum of 5 Mbps bandwidth.

Enormous graphics performance

The recommended system requirements meanwhile are either Ryzen 5 1500X, 16 GB RAM and a Radeon RX 590 (4 GB VRAM) or an Intel Core i5-8400 with an Nvidia- GTX-970-graphics card with 4 GB VRAM and at least 20 Mbps bandwidth each. And the ideal computer for Flight Simulator 2020 has either a Ryzen 7 2700X, 32 GB RAM and a Radeon Vll graphics card with 8 GB VRAM or an Intel Core i7-9800X with 32 GB RAM and an Nvidia RTX 2080 card with 8GB memory. The ideal bandwidth is 50 Mbps. Internet access is mandatory because many of the calculations in the huge world of Flight Simulator 2020 with 37,000 airports, 1.5 billion buildings, 2 trillion trees as well as live traffic and real-time weather are done in the cloud.
